Over the past six months Redmoor Property Consultants have been working with a local authority client to deliver a series of farmhouse refurbishment projects in North Devon, as part of a wider Decent Homes improvements scheme.
The first project has recently completed on site, with works entailing a full renovation and modernisation of an existing farmhouse. Works have included the removal of asbestos containing materials, upgrade of insulation to thermal elements, replacement of pitched roof coverings, remodelling and redecoration of the kitchen and utility room, plus the reconfiguration of the first floor to create a new shower room. As part of the refurbishment the heating, plumbing and electrical systems were all replaced to comply with modern and thermal efficiency standards. This was followed by a full programme of redecoration.
Redmoor has overseen the delivery of the project from inception, through preliminary and technical design stages, including preparation of drawings and schedule of works/specifications, followed by management of the tender process, appointment of the Principal Contractor and subsequent co-ordination and administration of the contract during the construction phase.
Despite encountering a number of site challenges, relating to inclement weather and ecological constraints, Redmoor have ensured the successful delivery of the project by maintaining effective communication with key project stakeholders throughout, including the client, tenants, consultants and contractors.

This provides us with the best opportunity to deliver successful projects and achieve the aims set out in the client brief”.
